Israel-based Eviation Aircraft, a global manufacturer of all-electric aircraft, is changing the way people move regionally and pioneering the industry with the first all-electric nine passenger, Alice Commuter. Almadesign, a Lisbon based design consultancy, worked closely with Eviation to design, develop and build the prototype cabin interior, creating a brand-new passenger experience for the zero emissions regional aircraft. Alice Commuter is capable of flying with nine passengers at 240 knots and a range of up to 650 miles. Operating at a fraction of the costs of conventional jet liners, Alice will redefine how people travel regionally and usher in a new era of flying that is quieter, cleaner and cost-effective.

SOPHY™ offers more than just tracking a trolley’s status and performance. SOPHY™ provides airlines with a helicopter’s view of day to day operations, offering insights on main processes and the milestones of a trolley’s journey during handovers, cleaning, maintenance, in-flight service rounds and more. SOPHY™ is a wafer-thin trolley device that collects, shares, and communicates real-time, accurate data with other SOPHY-activated equipment through a “mesh network”, unlocking valuable insights for airline operators. The insights of a trolley equipped with SOPHY™ can save catering costs by preventing and minimizing inefficiencies due to mishandling, misplacement, or misinformation. No longer will a trolley be left behind during a turnaround or at the catering facility. SOPHY™ is easy to integrate in existing and new trolley fleets, and is designed to operate in demanding conditions. The device is watertight and temperature resistant, ensuring excellent operation. SOPHY complies with worldwide regulations.

The Greywater Reuse System takes handwash water from the sink for flushing the toilet instead of precious potable water. This allows to reduce the amount of potable water by 250 kg for a Boeing 787 resulting in CO2 savings of around 550 tons per year and aircraft as well as substantial financial savings for the operator. Despite this significant saving of potable water, twice as much water will be available for flushing the toilet as compared to state of the art systems. As a result, the passenger will find a cleaner toilet, which allows a much more relaxing and sanitary flying experience. The Greywater Reuse System treats the handwash water to prevent undesired odor, microbial regrowth, unpleasant appearance and health risks. In addition, aerosols are eliminated by optimized spray nozzles and an automated toilet lid.

Safran Passenger Solutions cracked the code for Bluetooth Audio congestion during flight enabling the entire aircraft to be connected at the same time. Up until now, commercially available Bluetooth prevented a large number of Bluetooth headphones, in close proximity to each other, from working at the same time without impacting Wi-Fi. The engineers at Safran Passenger Solutions created a way to control power, antenna direction and protocol to allow each passenger or seat of an aircraft to connect to Bluetooth audio without impacting the connection for other seats. In addition, passengers are not limited to the headsets provided by airlines. Passengers can connect using their own devices, if they prefer, increasing passenger satisfaction and decreasing costs for the airlines.

In-Mold Electronics (IME) is an evolution, driving passenger’s engagement and enhancing the journey. Imagine elegant, appealing, smart surfaces that are integrated seamlessly into the cabin space. With a simple hand gesture, surfaces come to life with clearly backlit controls, including capacitive on/off switches, sliders and dials for volume or light leveling and more.

Safran Seats presents the Modulair S Seat, an economy class seat that is designed with a passenger-centered architecture which enables it to holistically integrate a complete set of new experience enhancing features.

The Coffee House Cabin is a productivity-focused zone targeting the must have needs of the business traveler; a dedicated workstation and personal space. Priced above basic economy and below first class, it features space-efficient tables located in the center of the aircraft. With four passengers seated at each table, this space allows passengers to have their own personal workspace during flight. Retractable screens located in the center of each table provide a partition for passengers seated directly across from one another in the Coffee House Zone. For safety, during takeoff and landing all seats rotate towards the front of the aircraft, and table wings fold down and are secured. In order to have mixed-zone seating, basic economy seats remain on the outer sides of the aircraft.
